COMPASSION, WITH ITS SLEEVES ROLLED UP.

A full pantry.
A listening ear.
A way forward.

Sometimes hope starts with groceries. Sometimes it starts with someone willing to listen.

Interfaith Emergency Services brings food support and social services together for neighbors facing hardship in Marion County. Practical help. Human connection. A place to begin.

WHY THIS BRIDGE MATTERS

Life gets complicated.
Compassion can get practical.

An empty cupboard is rarely the whole story. Neither is the problem someone manages to explain in the first five minutes.

A job loss, a family crisis, or an unexpected expense can leave a neighbor carrying more than we see. Help begins when someone pays attention—and connects that concern to something useful.

At Interfaith Emergency Services, that can mean food and basic supplies, a conversation with social services, and guidance toward the programs that fit the need.

For Bridge Builder, loving our neighbors means caring enough to listen—and showing up with something more than advice.

A personal connection

Chris serves as a volunteer pastoral counselor with Interfaith Emergency Services. This local connection is one reason Bridge Builder points neighbors toward its work.

TWO WAYS COMPASSION BECOMES REAL

Food on the table.
Someone in your corner.

Behind every program is a person. These two parts of Interfaith’s work put immediate needs and personal attention in the same picture.

01 / FOOD SUPPORT

The next meal matters.

Interfaith’s food distribution work connects donated food with people who need it. Volunteers help receive donations, sort supplies, and serve neighbors through the pantry.

A stocked pantry starts long before someone picks up a bag. It takes food drives, reliable hands, and people willing to do the everyday work.

02 / SOCIAL SERVICES

Listening is part of helping.

Interfaith’s social services volunteers meet with clients and help connect them with essential needs. The conversation makes room for the person behind the immediate request.

This is practical support and service guidance. Someone seeking a particular kind of counseling can ask Interfaith which program is the right starting point.
