A child needs help reading. A family needs a way to afford that help. Lisa’s tutoring begins with the individual reader: short, focused, personalized work on phonics, fluency, comprehension, and confidence. The LEAP Initiative asks how to make that support reachable for families who cannot pay for it.
Help put learning within reach.
An encouraging slogan cannot sit beside a child and teach phonics. Churches, businesses, civic groups, and individual sponsors may be able to help fund the people who can. The LEAP sponsorship model can let a supporter fund a reader while Lisa and her team protect the quality of instruction. That pathway is still being developed; no sponsorship payment is collected here.
BridgeBuilder’s part is to tell the story, find partners, and publish free learning resources, not to take over the tutoring. Meet Lisa’s work. Read the mission story. Help us move from agreeing that children deserve support to finding a responsible way to offer it.
Faith, hope, and love in action through Christ and kindness.
