Complete lyrics

“Touch The Sky”

We were wanderers
Lost and broken
living in the night

Chasing dreams of faded glory
searching for the light

But then grace came
like a whisper
calling me by name

woke me from a restless slumber
set my heart aflame

(prechorus)
All the mystery of the world’s so deep
You cause us to believe
that through darkness and through pain
Your light helps us to see

(Chorus)
By grace, we are saved
By faith we find our way
Not by works but by love
were made alive today

From the ashes
we arise
with new life in our eyes

Into the mystic
we will fly
with you i’ll touch the sky

(Verse)
We were strangers
we were outcasts
far from the worlds embrace

But now we are adopted
Masterpieces of grace

With your spirit
we are woven
into one, we’re whol;e

no longer bound by sin and shame
your love has made us whole

(prechorus)
All the mystery of the world’s so deep
You cause us to believe
that through darkness and through pain
Your light helps us to see

(Chorus)
By grace, we are saved
By faith we find our way
Not by works but by love
were made alive today

From the ashes
we arise
with new life in our eyes

Into the mystic
we will fly
with you i’ll touch the sky

(Bridge)
Now we walk in light and glory
Here’s to promices so grand
By your will, we’ll tell the story
of your ways through out the land.

In the mystic - we are free
bound eternally
no more shadows - no more night
we’re reflections of your light

(Chorus)
By grace, we are saved
By faith we find our way
Not by works but by love
were made alive today

From the ashes
we arise
with new life in our eyes

Into the mystic
we will fly
with you i’ll touch the sky

(Bridge)
In the mystic - we are free
bound eternally
no more shadows - no more night
we’re reflections of your light

(Chorus)
By grace, we are saved
By faith we find our way
Not by works but by love
were made alive today

From the ashes
we arise
with new life in our eyes

Into the mystic
we will fly
with you i’ll touch the sky

The heart of the song

It can be tiring to live as though love is always one more effort away. One more improvement, one more achievement, one more reason someone should keep us close. “Touch the Sky” moves toward a different kind of belonging.

Its wanderers become welcomed children. The song gives that movement room to feel like something: the loosening of a hand that has been gripping too tightly, the possibility of being received.

When striving grows quiet

The words move from restless reaching toward grace. What the singer has been chasing begins to sound less like a prize and more like a gift. That is where the song can touch a life tired of trying to deserve its place.

A Christian listener may hear the language of grace beside this movement. We can sit with that connection gently, without asking the song to promise that every burden will vanish once someone believes.

Welcomed into a shared life

The song’s family imagery matters. Belonging is not only an inward feeling; it reaches toward life with others. Being received can awaken a desire to make room for someone else.

The Scripture linked below gives this reflection its Christian setting. Read those passages beside the words, with room for the music to remain a story. The movement from wandering to welcome can become a prayer for a community where love is expressed through patience and care.

An open hand

To receive grace may feel vulnerable when striving has become familiar. We may need time to let another person be kind without searching for the hidden cost. We may need to learn how to rest without apologizing for every quiet moment.

Listen again with an open hand. Let the song make room for gratitude, and for the person whose tiredness you have not noticed. May the welcome we long for become a welcome we offer with wisdom and tenderness.
